Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Resources seeking input on expanding deer harvest

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is seeking your input concerning the expansion of deer harvests in Zone 3, which includes Barren County, Monroe County and Warren County, and Zone 4. The proposed change will not effect deer harvests in Allen County.
The proposed change would take effect in the 2011-2012 deer hunting season.
But, you only have until Monday, Feb. 28, to participate in the Online Survey about the changes.
The change would add six antlered-only deer hunting days to the end of the modern firearm season for the Zones 3 and 4. It would extend the antlered deer hunting season from 10 to 16 days. However, it would not add any additional days of anterless harvest. The proposed change would not adversely affect doe numbers and fawn production.
This change has been proposed by the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Commission — the board that sets fish and wildlife regulations.
