Fishing for a Cure Tournament March 26 to raise funds to cure Cystic Fibrosis

   The first, and what plans to be an annual, Fishing for a Cure Cystic Fibrosis Bass Tournament will be Saturday, March 26. It starts at 7 a.m. from the Barren River Lake State Park ramp and concludes with weigh-in at 3 p.m.
   Entry fee is $50 per boat, with a total payout of $2,500. First place is $1,000; second place is $500; third place is $250; fourth place is $125; and fifth place is $75.
     There will also be a $500 payout for the biggest bass, and $50 for the smallest legal bass. 
    Drinks and snacks will be available at weigh-in.
   All proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to find a cure.

Results of the first Barren River Fishing League Tournament

   The Barren River Fishing League had its first tournament of the year Saturday, March 19, with 31 boats weighing-in 152.97 lbs. of bass. The big bass for the day weighed in at 5.03 lbs. The tournament average per fish was 2.51 lbs.
– 1st place string: Wilson/Ford- 17.51 lbs. ($440)
– 2nd place string: Piper/Stinson- 14.45 lbs. ($370)
– 3rd place string: Sneed/Sneed- 13.13 lbs. ($265) 
– 4th place string: Wyatt/Wyatt- 12.66 lbs. ($175)
– 5th place string: Coffey/Hogue- 12.42 lbs. ($145)
– 6th place string: Button/Bishop- 11.93 lbs. ($75)
– 1st Big Bass: McCoy/Vance- 5.03 lbs. ($105)
– 2nd Big Bass: Isenburg/Brown- 4.51 lbs. ($45)
