Glasgow Highland Games scheduled June 3-5 at Barren River Lake State Park

   The 2011 Glasgow Highland Games are scheduled for June 3-5 at the Barren River Lake State Park. This year’s games include the Celtic Fest on the square in Glasgow, the traditional Ceilidh, a golf tournament, athletic events, and vendors, plus musical entertainment, as well as the annual Tartan Ball and the Rockin’ Under the Stars Concert.
   Entertainment scheduled for this year is Albannach; NeedFire; Father, Son and Friends; Colin Grant-Adams and Seven Nations; and the Red River Fiddlers, in addition to numerous pipe bands from across the nation.
   Flashback from Lexington will perform at the Tartan Ball, while Father, Son and Friends; Albannach; and NeedFire are set to perfrom at the Rockin’ Under the Stars Concert.   
   This year’s games will not have the Celtic Rock Concert on the Thursday prior to the games, nor will it host the individual and band competitions. However, several pipe bands will be participating and playing throughout the games.
