Barren River Lake water level falling; many ramps, campgrounds still flooded

The water level continues to fall at Barren River Lake; however, it may be too little too late to save this coming Memorial Day weekend. The dam is open .6 and expelling about 3.5 in. of water every 24 hours. At 6 p.m. on May 20, the lake level stood at 574.79 ft., down from the same time May 19, of 575.09 ft. The summer pool is 552 ft.
The openings and closings around the lake are relatively unchanged since our May 6 Opening/Closing post. The only exception being The Narrows Marina, which has reopened.
We will post the official openings/closings for the Memorial Day weekend when they are released by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers early next week.
