Friends of Barren River Lake need your vote to get grant for safe boating idea

The Friends of Barren River Lake are competing for a Grassroots Grant from the Boat U.S. Foundation to fund a “Banner Hunt.” The local organization is competing against 16 other nonprofit organizations, all who are promoting safe boating, a mission of the foundation.
The  “Banner Hunt” will involve posting boating safety banners on light poles around the lake and boaters will use a series of clues to find the banners. The campaign will also include public service announcements promoting safe boating and bringing attention to the “Banner Hunt.”
In years past, the Boat U.S. Foundation has determined the grant winners by committee; however, this year they are seeking votes. Persons may vote once a day until midnight June 13.
