Barren River Lake State Park lodge and other state parks adopt pet-friendly policy

If you hate leaving “Fido” or “Felix” at home as you vacation at one of Kentucky’s state parks. Fear no more!
The Kentucky Department of Parks has adopted a new pet-friendly policy at all of its state resort parks, including the Barren River Lake State Park’s Louie B. Nunn Lodge.
The policy allows pet owners to bring pets into their lodge rooms that have been specifically designated for pets. However, pet owners will pay an additional $25 fee for each reservation. There are a limited number of pet-friendly lodge rooms that are available.
At check-in, guests, who reserve a pet-friendly room will receive a copy of the park’s pet policy and will be required to sign a waiver verifying that they will comply with the policy.
Pets are not allowed in state park cottages. Pets may be brought into state park campgrounds as long as they are on a leash.
Guests who bring a pet into a cottages or in lodge rooms, not labeled as pet-friendly, will be subject to an additional room charge of $25 per stay and a $100 extra cleaning fee.
To make reservations at the Barren River Lake State Park lodge or cottages, log on to Barren River Lake State Park Reservations.
