Lake Continues to Drop, Water Warming Up
The Barren River Lake continues to fall, about 4-4.5 inches every 24 hours. However, it remains over 17 ft. above summer pool. At this rate, and barring any large amounts of rain, the lake could reach summer pool as early as mid-July.
The water continues to warm. From surface to about 5 ft. , the water temperature is about 80 degrees; from 5 ft. to 10 ft., the water temperature is about 73 degrees; and below 10 ft., the water temperature drops to about 69 degrees. Despite warming water temperatures, there are no swimming beaches open at the lake, due to flooding.
