Bailey’s Point Loop B will open July 1; swimming beaches will remain closed

   Despite recent rains, all camp sites, including Bailey’s Point Campground Loop B, will be open for the July 4 weekend. However, all swimming beaches around the lake will remain closed due to high water.
   As of 2:30 p.m. CT, today, the lake level was 664 ft. or 12 ft. above the summer pool of 552 ft. The dam is open at six-tenths and dropping the lake level at about 4.5 in. every 24 hrs.
   Bailey’s Point Campground, sites B9-B59, will be opening Friday, July 1, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Barren River Lake. The sites had been closed, due to high water, since April.
   All boat ramps, with the exception of the Peninsula ramp, will also be open (back down only) for the July 4 weekend.
