Barren River Lake July 4 Events Schedule

   Barren River Lake State Resort Park will celebrate Independence Day practically all day, July 4. Activities at the park will begin at Noon and conclude with the Friends of Barren River Lake’s Fireworks Finale at about 8:30 p.m.
   The Red, White and Blue Party will kick off at Noon at the Shuffleboard Court, near the swimming pool at the Louie B. Nunn Lodge. All ages are encouraged to participate in the five hours of planned events.
   The events will typically last about 30 mins. each with an hour-long session at the end. All participants are encouraged to arrive early to any of the events to make sure that you don’t miss one.
Noon- Egg Drop Contest
12:30 p.m.- Red, White & Blue Butterflies
1 p.m.- Family Events
   Family sign-up required. Each family that signs up must have a participant in each event. Family-friendly competition with points awarded for places and participation, and a prize to the family accumulating the most points at the end of the events. Point for first place (10) and second place (5) and participation (1).  Games include Iced T-Shirt Relay, Dizzy Bat, Hula-Hoop Contest, Three-Legged Race, Limbo Contest, Water Balloon Toss, and more, if time permits.
4 p.m.- Face Painting, Balloon Sculpting, Sidewalk Chalk. 
5:30 p.m.- Band at the Tennis Court Shelter.
8:30 p.m. (approx.)- Fireworks Finale! sponsored by the Friends of Barren River Lake. 
   To aid in the exit of the park after the fireworks, there will be two lanes exiting the park. The left lane will be required to turn left on to Hwy. 31E toward Glasgow, while the right lane will be required to turn right on to Hwy. 31 E toward Scottsville.
