Prehistoric Indian Artifact Show Aug. 21 at Barren River State Resort Park lodge

   The Green River Archaeological Society will have a Prehistoric Indian artifact show Sunday, Aug. 21, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Barren River Lake State Park lodge. The show is FREE and open to the public.
   The show will consitst of prehistoric artifacts from the continental United States, Canada and Alaska. No reproductions will be allowed.
   Artifacts on display will include arrowheads and pottery, along with other preshistoric Native American pieces. 
   Many of the artifacts have been discovered on family farms, in plowed fields, along river and creek banks, and construction sites.
   This show is the oldest sponsored show in Kentucky.   
   The G.R.A.S., which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, is the Kentucky chapter of the Central States Archeological Society.
   In October, G.R.A.S. will host another show with only Kentucky prehistoric artifacts.
