Walmart Bass Fishing League returning to Barren River Lake on Sept. 10-11

    The Walmart Bass Fishing League will return to Barren River Lake this Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 10-11, as its Mountain Division makes its final stop of the season.
   The two-day tournament could bring as many as 400 boaters and co-anglers to the lake to compete for prizes up to $11,000 and $4,500, respectively.
   Takeoffs for both days will be at the Port Oliver Recreation Area Ramp, located next to the Barren River Dam Rd. at 7 a.m.
   Saturday’s weigh-in will be at the the Port Oliver Recreation Area, beginning at 3 p.m., and Sunday’s final weigh-in is set for 4 p.m. at the Glasgow Walmart on Happy Valley Road.
   Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.
   The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American presented by Chevy.
   Top winners in the BFL can move up to the EverStart Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.

BENEFIT TOURNAMENT SEPT. 11 FOR VANCE FAMILY
   A benefit bass fishing tournament is scheduled for this Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Barren River Lake State Park Ramp.
   The benfit will aid with medical bills of the Vance baby, who was born premature.
   Registration, takeoffs and weigh-ins will be at the Barren River State Park Ramp. Takeoffs will be at 7 a.m. with weigh-in at 3 p.m.
   There will be a 5 fish limit, 1 slot per person with entry fee of $25 per person. Prizes will include a big fish pot and 70% payback.
