Miami/Cuban cuisine Thursday night

The second stop on the Barren River Lake State Park’s “Tour of America” dining series will be Thursday, Feb. 2, with a Miami/Cuban menu in the park’s Driftwood Restaurant. The restaurant is located in the Louie B. Nunn Lodge.
The Miami/Cuban menu will be served from 5-8 p.m. It is $14.95 for adults and $8.95 for children. Drink, tax and gratuity are not included.
This is the second in the “Tour of America” series. Future menu stops include Creole/Cajun (Feb. 16), American Indian (March 1), Traditional American (March 22). Plus, the park’s annual Buffalo Night will be this Saturday, Feb. 4. (The menu for Buffalo Night will be posted Tuesday, Jan. 31.)
The cuisine of Miami is a reflection of its diverse population, with a heavy influence especially from Caribbean cuisine and from Latin American cuisine. By combining the two with American cuisine, it has spawned a unique South Florida style of cooking known as Floribbean cuisine.
