Barren River Lake State Park undergoes long-term energy savings projects

Barren River Lake State Park, along with eight other state resort parks, have begun a long-term energy savings project.
The parks will install a variety of conservation measures, including energy efficient lighting, water systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning. The utility and operational savings will pay for the energy upgrades.
The work will  be completed by Ameresco, based in Framingham, Mass.
In addition to Barren River Lake State Park, Dale Hollow, General Butler, Kenlake, Kentucky Dam Village, Lake Barkley, Lake Cumberland, Pennyrile Forest, and Rough River Dam will also undergo the projects. The project covers approximately 470 buildings at these parks.
The projects will continue over the next 17 months.
