Barren River Lake State Park visitors can “Hike to the Moon” and more June 23

   Barren River Lake State Park and the Louisville Astronomical Society invite you this Saturday, June 23, from 8-11 p.m., to “Hike to the Moon” and view where astronauts landed. Telescopes will be set up in the Highland Games field, just to the right after you enter the park.
   But, “Hike to the Moon” is only a small part of the astronomical activities that will be going on throughout the day at the park.
11 a.m.- 1 p.m.
   Solar observation: Don’t miss this chance to observe the sun safely. 
   In front of the Louie B. Nunn Lodge.
   Free.
2-3 p.m.
  
Create “Out of this World” tie-dye T-shirts or bandanas.
   Shuffle Board court.
   $5 for bandana; $7 for T-shirt.
6:30- 7:30 p.m.
   Astronomy literature & lecture.
   Highland Room of the Louie B. Nunn Lodge.
   Free.
8-11 p.m.
   Hike to the Moon.
   Highland Games field, to the right as you enter the park.
   Free.
