Barren River Lake Scout Celebration has exhibits to share the fun of scouting

  

Troop 8 of Louisville created “Squeegy Painting.”

Troop 244 of White Mills created “Mt. Dew Cobbler.”

Troop 149 of Scottsville cooked up “Biscuit Bowls with Jelly.”

The annual Barren River Lake Scout Celebration this past weekend offered visitors a variety of exhibits to share the fun of scouting.
   Over 380 Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and their leaders from across southcentral Kentucky spent the weekend at the Tailwater Recreation Area, just below the dam.
   They enjoyed a weekend of activities and competitions.
Saturday’s exhibits, open to the public, were Biscuit Bowls with Jelly by Troop 149 of Scottsville; Fire Lays and Knots by Troop 303 of Russellville; Fireless Smores by Troop 4199 of Russellville; Mt. Dew Cobbler by Troop 244 of White Mills; First Aid for Burns by Troop 241 of Russell Springs; and Squeegie Painting by Troop 8 of Louisville. 
   The Barren River Lake Scout Celebration is sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Barren River Lake.
