Barren River Lake’s Narrows Marina CLOSED, not safe for public access

   Effective immediately, the Narrows Marina at the Narrows Recreation Area on Barren River Lake is closed to the public, according to a press release by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
   The marina is in the process of being dismantled and is not safe for public access.
   Additionally, all boaters must have their boats and personal property removed from the facility no later than 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2013.
   Any boat owners with vessels or personal property remaining at the marina will be considered trespassers on federal property, according to the Corps.
   There will be no public marina facilities available at this location until further notice.
   A new marina facility at the Narrows will be developed by Wayne Shelton and William Henry Funk, developers. The public may contact Shelton or Funk at (270) 646­-7071 concerning the future development and interim arrangements.
