Barren River Lake drawdown resumes

   Barren River Lake’s winter drawdown has resumed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
   As of 10 p.m., Barren River Lake stood at 533.2 ft., down almost 1 ft. from 24 hours earlier.
   The lake had fallen to 529.5 ft. on Sunday, Dec. 9, before rains caused the lake to rise to 534 ft. on Dec. 12.
   Winter pool is 525 ft.

   Predicted rains for this weekend are expected to raise the lake back up, before it drops again.

     The lake’s winter drawdown had been delayed the first two weeks of December by the Corps to allow better navigation along the lower Ohio and Mississippi rivers by compensating for a forecasted decline in the Missouri River flow.
