The Narrows Recreation Area, including boat ramp, is closed until further notice

The Narrows Recreation Area, including the boat ramp, is closed until further notice.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers closed The Narows Recreation Area Thursday, Jan. 17, “to protect public health and safety while repairs and construction continue at the marina as the property transitions to a new lease holder,” according to a press release from the Corps.
Barren River Lake Corps manager Carlos Lopez said that the ramp and marina could open as early as March, or possibly sooner, but could also be extended, if necessary.
Only persons with written permission from the Corps may enter The Narrows Recreation Area as marina repairs and construction continue.
The Narrows Campground, which is closed until May 3, 2013, will not be affected.
