Barren River Outdoors Center growing with grant to build boulder climbing area

The Bowling Green Riverfront Foundation received a $1,500 grant from Nat’s Outdoor World in Bowling Green to build a boulder climbing area along the Barren River in Bowling Green.
The boulder climbing area will overlook the Barren River and will be located near the Weldon Peete Park, across the river from Mitch McConnell Park and Riverwalk.
The grant will be used to design the boulder climbing area.
It will be the second element in what the foundation plans to be the Barren River Outdoors Center, a family park that will include a mountain bike trail, boulder climbing area, whitewater rafting on the Barren River, and a bicycle pump track.
The mountain bike trail has already been completed along the river near the park.
