Barren River Lake State Park hosting annual Campers Appreciation Weekend

   Barren River Lake State Park will be hosting its annual Campers Appreciation Weekend, April 26-28. 
   Camper Appreciation Weekend offers guests the opportunity to Camp Two Nights for the Price of One! at the Barren River Lake State Park Campground.
   Visitors may also participate in a Nature Fest and the “River of Stars” presentation, co-sponsored by the Louisville Astronomical Society.
   The Nature Fest, on Saturday, April 27, will include a Wildflower Hike, a class of Birding 101, a Reptile Program, a lesson in Tree ID, Fishing for Fun! and the creation of a Nature T-Shirt. For more information about the Nature Fest, contact Jamie.Avery@ky.gov or call the park at 270-646-2151.
   The “River of Stars” will also be on Saturday, April 27, at the park. It will include the chance to look at the sun (safely) during a Solar Observation at 4 p.m., a lesson on astronomy with “Stars on the Wall” at 7 p.m., and a Night Sky Observation at 8:30 p.m. For more information on the “River of Stars,” contact Jamie.Avery@ky.gov or call the park at 270-646-2151.
