Barren River Lake State Park to host Spring Hoot 5K Run/Walk on May 11

The Barren River Lake State Park will host its annual Spring Hoot 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, May 11, at 8:30 a.m., on-site registration begins at 7 a.m.
   Runners and walkers of all ages are encouraged to participate- runners in the Spring Hoot 5K, while walkers in the 5K Family Fun Walk.
   For the runners, awards will go to the overall male and female winners, and first and second place winners in each male and female age divisions: 15 and under; 16-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; and 70 and over.
Walkers will be eligible for door prizes.
   Online pre-registration fees for the run is $20; for the walk is $15.

   After May 3, as well as the day of the race, registration fee for the run is $25; for the walk is $20.

   Pre-registration for the Race/Walk will be at 7 a.m. at the Louie B. Nunn Lodge.
   Registration fees include a T-shirt, guaranteed for pre-registered participants; however, shirts will be “while supplies last” for day of race registrants.
