Narrows, Tailwater campgrounds open

    The Narrows and Tailwater campgrounds are opening Friday, May 3. They are the last of the five Barren River Lake campgrounds to open.
   The Narrows Campground has 89 standard sites with electric. There is also a public boat ramp near. It is located at 1880 Narrows Road, adjacent to the newly-renovated Narrows Marina.
   The Tailwater Campground, located at the base of the Barren River dam on the Barren River, has 48 standard sites with electric. There is also a boat ramp on the Barren River for campers. Access to Barren River Lake is across the dam at Port Oliver Recreation Area boat ramps.
   The Barren River Lake State Park Campground, that opened March 29, has 98 standard sites with electric and 2 tent sites. There is also a boat ramp at the campground, as well as at the park. It is located just inside of Barren River Lake State Park.
   The Walnut Creek Campground, that opened Monday, April 15, has 33 standard sites with electric and 33 tent sites. There is also a public boat ramp near. It is located adjacent to the Walnut Creek Marina at 1994 Walnut Creek Road.
   The Baileys Point Campground, Barren River Lake’s largest campground opened April 19. It has 148 standard sites with electric and 53 standard sites with no electric. There is also a boat ramp for campers. It is located at 3170 Baileys Point Road.
