Barren River Lake flooding concern is rising as rain forecast rest of the week

   Barren River Lake flooding is becoming a greater concern as more rain is predicted through the remainder of the week.
   Over the past 14 days, the Barren River Lake basin has received between 6-8 in. of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
  As of 7 p.m., tonight (May 6), the Barren River Lake is at 562.2 ft., and rising. It is now 10.2 ft. above Summer Pool of 552 ft.
   Barren River Lake is forecast to rise to 564 ft. by Thursday, May 9.
Barren River and Lake Water Levels
   Water levels are beginning to effect boat ramps, beaches and campgrounds. At 564 ft., the Barren River Lake State Park Golf Course will also be effected.
