Poker Run, POYC Infinity Regatta highlight Saturday on Barren River Lake

   The Barren River Lake Poker Run and the Port Oliver Yacht Club’s annual Blackbeard’s Cursed Inifinity Regatta will highlight Saturday, Aug. 3, on Barren River Lake. 
Barren River Lake Poker Run
   Registration for the Poker Run, to benefit the Friends of Barren River Lake & Park, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the beach at the Barren River Lake State Park.
   Entry is $25 per hand played. There will also be $5 chances to win prizes, that include a flat screen TV, gas grill, diamond earrings, and $100 gift certificate.
   Poker Run winners will get $500 for the best hand, $250 for the second best hand, and $100 for the third best hand. There will also be two Wild Card winners of $50 each for non-winners.
   Participants will return to the beach at 4 p.m. to open their hands and winners will be announced.
   Proceeds from the Poker Run are used to fund the annual Trashmasters Classic (Sept. 21), and the annual July 4 fireworks.
Blackbeard’s Cursed Infinity Regatta
   This annual Infinity Regatta takes sailors around a figure 8 course on Barren River Lake that seems like it goes on forever.
   There will be classes for cruisers and dinghies.
   Following the captains’ meeting at 10, the race will begin.
