Body discovered in Barren River

   The body of a man who had been missing since Sunday was found in the Barren River, near Bowling Green today.
   Authorities identified the drowning victim as Adam Smelser, 25, of Bowling Green.
   The Warren County (Ky.) Rescue Department, along with the Bowling Green Fire Department Rescue Squad, and members of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources had been searching Barren River since Sunday afternoon.
   Witnesses had reported that a man went under in the river near the Old Louisville Bridge in Bowling Green Sunday about 1 p.m.
   Rescue efforts were halted Sunday evening due to storms in the region, but resumed Monday and continued until the body was discovered today.
   The body was recovered near the rapids under the Old Louisville Road bridge, close to where he was seen Sunday.
