Nashville Boat Show Jan. 23-26; and Louisville Boat Show Jan. 22-26

   The Nashville Boat & Sportshow is scheduled for Jan. 23-26 at Nashville’s Music City Center, while the Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow is scheduled Jan. 22-26 at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
   Both are sponsored by Progressive Insurance.
   The shows will feature hundreds of new boats for sale, plus summer fun with nautical attractions and educational offerings for all ages.

Nashville Boat Show Jan. 23-26
   An exciting addition to this year’s show is a special appearance by John Godwin from A&E’s hit series “Duck Dynasty” (appearing Sunday, Jan. 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
   Other new features at this year’s show include the ‘Be a Diver’ pool, which gives attendees the opportunity to scuba dive for free.
   Show staples including the fishing seminar series and the Bass Tubs of Oklahoma Fish Tank will be back at this year’s show.
    Returning to the show is Paddlefest, hosted by Canoe Kentucky, providing attendees a chance to try out kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards in a large on-site pool. 
   The popular annual show will begin taking advantage of the increased space and amenities in its first year and is expected to feature hundreds of boats and occupy more than 180,000 square feet. 
   Other features at the 2014 Nashville Boat & Sportshow include daily fishing seminars for all experience levels from local professional angler Joey Monteleone, and free kids’ boating safety sessions through the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital Water Wise Program.
    Tickets are $6 on Thursday, Jan. 23, for adults ages 16 and older, and $9 the following three days. Children ages 15 and younger are admitted free throughout the show.    This year’s event also offers a variety of opportunities for family fun, including a chance to walk on water in Rockin’, Rollin’ Bubbles; an opportunity to try stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing and kayaking at Paddlefest; and a chance to brush up on any outdoors skills.
    The show’s youngest visitors have the chance to meet some creepy crawlers and learn about conservation camp or try their hand at fishing at the Kid’s Trout Pond, free for children 12 and under.
    Boating, fishing, hunting and RV enthusiasts have the opportunity to view and compare hundreds of the newest boats and RVs, plus hundreds of booths showcasing the latest outdoor gear, gadgets and destinations. The event features competitive deals from more than 150 regional boat and RV dealers, plus dozens of outdoors-related companies.
   Advanced tickets are on sale now and available through  Adult tickets are $10, and senior citizens admission is $8. Children under 15 and active military (with military ID) are free. Event show hours vary by day:
