Barren River Lake struggling to reach Winter Pool as rain, snow keep falling

     Barren River Lake has yet to reach winter pool.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers started draw down of the lake to winter pool in October.
     The winter pool level is 525 ft.
     The lake stands at 528.4 ft., and is forecast to rise as rain is predicted for the weekend.
     Traditionally, the Corps targets Dec. 15 to reach the winter pool.
     The Corps will begin holding water in March in an effort to reach summer pool (552 ft.) by April 15.
