Scout Celebration set Aug. 11-13

The 23rd annual Barren River Lake Scout celebration will be this weekend, Aug. 11-12, at the Tailwater Campground.
This event is sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is for Scouts of all ages.
It allows scouts to showcase their skills, achievements and talents.
Events, which are FREE and open to the public, will begin Friday and conclude Sunday morning.
Friday, August 11
Units may begin arriving after 4:30 p.m.
8:15 p.m., SLIDE SHOW AND MOVIE, Amphitheater.
9:00 p.m., REQUIRED LEADER MEETING, Near the shower house (bring camp chairs).
Saturday, August 12
7:45 a.m., OPENING FLAG CEREMONY, Gilwell Field.
8:00 a.m., UNIT REGISTRATION, Behind the amphitheater.
8:30 a.m. to Noon, COOK OFF.
8:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m., JUNIOR OLYMPICS.
11:00- 11:30 a.m., Corp Demonstration.
11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m., FREE TIME.
12:30- 2:00 p.m., ACTIVITIES FOR ALL.
2:00- 5:30 p.m., COOK OFF.
2:00- 5:00 p.m., OLDER SCOUT CHALLENGE.
5:00- 6:30 p.m., FREE TIME / CAMP-WIDE BEAN SUPPER EVERYONE IS INVITED.
6:45 p.m., FLAG LOWERING Gilwell Field.
8:30 p.m., CLOSING CAMPFIRE, Amphitheater.
Sunday, August 13
8:30 a.m., CLOSING FLAG CEREMONY, Gilwell Field.
8:45 a.m., RELIGIOUS SERVICE, Amphitheater.
