Barren River Lake drawdown for winter pool begins Oct. 11, lake dropping daily

Barren River Lake will begin falling about a 0.3- 0.4 ft. per day, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 11.
The Barren River Lake winter drawdown will begin Oct. 11, according to the Barren River Lake U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office. The drawdown was originally scheduled to begin Oct. 18.
With the annual drawdown, boaters are reminded to pull their boats out of water and position docks for winter pool.
Dependent on rainfall, the lake levels are estimated to be at 550.3 ft. on Sunday, Oct. 15, and 549.2 ft. by Wednesday, Oct. 18.
The drawdown change is to support navigation of the Ohio River at Lock and Dam 52.
