Recycle live Christmas tree for habitat in Barren River Lake, drop at Port Oliver

Don’t throw away your live Christmas tree!
Recycle it!
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will use your old natural Christmas tree to create fish habitat around Barren River Lake.
The donated trees are weighted and placed along the shoreline to become a safe habitat for young fish.
Natural trees, free of all decorations, may be donated at the Port Oliver Recreation Area.
A sign is posted inside the recreation area as to where to donate the trees.
Port Oliver is located next to the dam.
For more information, about donating your old Christmas tree, contact the Corps office at (270) 646-2055.
