Hunters harvested 119 Sandhill Cranes during annual season, Dec. 16- Jan. 14

With the end of the 2017-18 Sandhill Crane season, Jan. 14, hunters harvested 119 cranes during the season that began Dec. 16, according to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.
– 115 in Barren County,
– 3 in Hardin County,
– 1 in Taylor County.
Hunters were limited to a daily and season bag limit of two cranes. The statewide quota was 400.
Hunters reported their Sandhill Crane harvest via Telecheck within 24 hours of the harvest.

The annual harvests have been:
– 119 Sandhill Cranes harvested 2017-2018.
– 171 Sandhill Cranes harvested 2016-2017.
– 75 Sandhill Cranes harvested 2015-2016.
– 96 Sandhill Cranes harvested 2014-2015.
– 87 Sandhill Cranes harvested 2013-2014.
– 92 Sandhill Cranes harvested 2012-2013.
– 50 Sandhill Cranes harvested 2011-2012 (first season).
