Barren River Lake State Park is one of the Kentucky state parks offering local, state and federal employees and retirees discounts Nov. 1 to March 31.
The Kentucky State Parks’ Commonwealth Connection program offers reduced rates on lodge rooms and cottages at 17 resort parks.
The rates at Barren River Lake State Park are: Lodge Room- $49.95; 1 Bedroom Cottage- $79.95; 2 Bedroom Cottage- $89.95; 3 Bedroom Cottage- $99.95.
These rates are applicable for the resort parks of Cumberland Falls, Kentucky Dam Village, Lake Barkley, Lake Cumberland or Natural Bridge State Resort Parks.
The remaining 11 resorts and the cottages at John James Audubon State Park are: Lodge Room –  $44.95 1BR Cottage –  $74.95 2BR Cottage –  $84.95 3BR Cottage –  $94.95 .

Kentucky Veterans with Disabilities Free Lodging Offer
   Only veterans who are 100% disabled* as a direct result of a service-connected incident and are current Kentucky residents are eligible for this discount. Benefit will extend to Kentucky National Guard or Reserve members disabled under the same circumstance.
The free accommodation (room, cottage, or campsite) will apply only to that occupied by the veteran themselves.
Available for a maximun of three overnight stays / calendar year, three nights max for each visit, subject to availability.
During the period Memorial Day – Labor Day, and the month of October, stays must start / end during the 5-day Sunday – Thursday period. Outside of this period, stays can be for any days of the week, subject to availability.
Reservations can be made no more than ten (10) days prior to arrival. Reservations are made by calling the park of their choice.
Disability letter and proof of Kentucky residency are required upon arrival.
*The 100% disability is determined by the US Veterans Administration or Department of Defense. National Guard disability is determined as provided in KRS Chapter 342. Those eligible will have a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs.
